Real Madrid lifted the UEFA Super Cup for the fourth time as they ran out 2-1 winners over Manchester United on Tuesday.

Real Madrid outclassed Manchester United 2-1 in the curtain raiser for the 2017/18 season for both teams. The result did not truly reflect the performance on the field as Zinedine Zidane’s men were the dominant side for large parts of the match, although the Red Devils put up a fair fight in the second half.

In the end, goals from Casemiro and Isco were enough for Real Madrid to win the tie, even though Romelu Lukaku’s goal midway through the second half gave Jose Mourinho’s men some hope.

And it was the Belgian, whose shocking miss earlier in the second half was rued by the Manchester United fans in the aftermath of the encounter.
