Palmeiras attacking midfielder Raphael Veiga has fuelled speculations surrounding his future by revealing his admiration for clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal.

In an interview with Spanish publication AS via Sport Witness, Raphael Veiga revealed that he wants to compete in European football, and he likes Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

“I have the desire to play in Europe, but I’m also very happy to play for Palmeiras. I think any player has the dream of playing in the Old Continent to compete with the best players in the world, to participate in the big championships… Me too, but I am a happy person and if that happens one day it will happen at the right time, and it will be very satisfying, and if it doesn’t happen, I will continue to be happy here.”

“I like a lot of teams in Europe. Barcelona, Madrid, City, Arsenal and others like Manchester United… It’s difficult to say just one. There are impressive teams and they all have something special and interesting.”

It will be interesting to see if any of these clubs decide to make a move for the Brazilian attacker in the coming months. The 28-year-old has been a key player for Palmeiras, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for the aforementioned clubs. Reports last year did link him with Barcelona.

Arsenal could use more quality and depth in the final third, and the 28-year-old will add goals and creativity to the side. He is at the peak of his powers right now, and moving to the Premier League will be a tempting proposition.

Arsenal need more depth in their squad to complete across all fronts, and players like Veiga could prove to be useful squad options for them. It will be interesting to see if the Gunners decide to make a move for him at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are already lacking in goals and creativity. Signing the 28-year-old would help them improve going forward.  It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils test the waters with an offer in the coming months.

As far as Real Madrid and Barcelona are concerned, they are already well stocked in the attacking department and a move for Veiga seems unlikely. Also, the 28-year-old is largely unproven at the highest level, and joining clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid might be difficult.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have a proven track record of competing for major trophies, and they are likely to pursue talented young players with immense potential or established stars. There is no doubt that Veiga could prove to be a quality acquisition for most European clubs. So, it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
