Ramy Bensebaini dreams of a move to join Manchester United in the future, although the Red Devils are not linked with the Algerian.

Manchester United may have seen their name written off as title credentials or to achieve anything worthwhile this season. But many top players are itching to play for them. During the summer, the club granted Rasmus Hojlund his wish to join them and paid big money.

There are several others in that category, and one of them is Ramy Bensebaini. The 28-year-old wide man, who joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach, has been a consistent performer in the Bundesliga.

The Algerian international had fantastic numbers with his former club and has successfully replaced Raphael Guerreiro, who joined Bayern Munich. He also signed a four-year deal with Dortmund, which gives the Bundesliga club the power to determine his immediate future.

Some media outlets, like 90min, picked up some recent comments from the left-back about his career ambitions, among other things. Bensebaini revealed he dreams of joining Manchester United before finishing his playing career.

Bensebaini said, “It’s always been my goal to progress and go as far as possible; that’s why I always try to choose clubs that are bigger than the ones I was at. As long as my body and my legs can run, my goal is to progress. As for Manchester United, we’ll see. I’m slowly getting older; I’m [nearly] 30 years old now, but we’ll see. God willing!”

Unfortunately, the Red Devils are not in the market for a new left-back despite their struggles in the positions this season. First-team options Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have missed most of the season, with the former returning recently

Surprisingly, Borussia Dortmund remain linked with left-backs all of a sudden, with on-loan Tottenham star Sergio Reguilon on their radar. The idea might have been to bring in another option to compete with Bensebaini. But things could rapidly change.

There are also links to Fran Garcia, which might hint at the club being open to offers for Bensebaini. Dortmund might see the wisdom in cashing in on the 28-year-old wide man if a good offer comes along, as they will make a total profit considering he arrived on a free transfer. As for Manchester United, they have other priorities entering the upcoming window, which may not involve signing a new left-back.
