Chelsea made an emphatic step forward in their assault on the title with a 3-1 victory over rivals Manchester City today
City dominated the first hour, but had only a Gary Cahill own goal to show for it before quickfire strikes from Diego Costa and impressive substitute Willian shocked Manchester City and changed the game completely.
Chelsea soaked up the pressure and hit City with a blow from out of the blue on the hour mark, after Costa brilliantly controlled a long pass from Cesc Fabregas and made no mistake with his finish. Nicolas Otamendi was. Eden Hazard wrapped up the Premier League leaders’ eighth successive win in the last minute before the game was basically ended after a shocking challenge from Sergio Aguero.
Chelsea fans everywhere celebrated the victory on Twitter :

Antonio Conte was hailed by football fans everywhere :
Antonio Conte inherited a dead team, and has built them into monsters. Without any noise or any attack at fellow managers or referees!

Conte masterclass today. Just amazing. I'm amazed how this team has adapted to 3-4-3.
I'm so glad I met Conte myself. I love my twitter name— ConteTweets (@ConteTweets) December 3, 2016

Managers trying to use 3-4-3 against Conte. They think the formation is their ally; they merely adopted it. He was born in it, molded by it.

When Antonio Conte won the league unbeaten at Juventus, they said it was a weak league. Now he's in England and bullying everybody.

I'm so proud of Conte. He is a league mastermind. He might be pulling a Juve 11/12 when we had no CL football to worry about. Forza Antonio.

Conte keeps making me take mi hat off. The worst of the top 6 squads and look what he's done.
Sure he has more in store to show.— Pedro Salinas (@pedrosalinass45) December 3, 2016
Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and David Luiz were all impressive in Chelsea’s victory, and Twitter recognised that :

Fabregas proved many of us wrong today, he’s still more than capable of doing a job when Matic/Kante are out. Cheers! @cesc4official

As an opposition fan, just have to applaud Fabregas for not reacting. Thuggish behaviour from Fernandinho. Ban him. pic.twitter.com/jaQIV8dORm

Fabregas can't move his body in the way Conte demands… but he can move a ball like no-one else on that team.

In David Luiz and Fabregas, we definitely have the two best passers in the Premier League.

Who's laughing at the purchase of David Luiz now? #CFC #8inarow
— Kevin Casey (@KevKc) December 3, 2016
I made fun of Chelsea when they signed back David Luiz but what an immense player he's been for them so far, his distribution is soooo good
— Alexis#7 (@TacticalAlexis) December 3, 2016
All of them played really well today, but I would pick David Luiz. He was rock solid in defense and saved us numerous times. Top class ? https://t.co/thkO6qeOzD

One user made a bet he is likely to regret come the end of the season, so let’s just get that on record :
If we win the league I'm getting Diego Costa tattooed on my ass. Remember this tweet.
