Youssoufa Moukoko has admitted he would love to stay at Borussia Dortmund amid links with top clubs including Liverpool.

Youssoufa Moukoko has come to the fore for Borussia Dortmund this season after the departure of Erling Haaland. The Norwegian took all the limelight for his impressive goalscoring form for the club. But with him leaving, the German youngster has had more chances to lead the line.

He is proving to be a clinical goalscorer, and Moukoko is also providing regular assists. He could become the next prized asset for Dortmund in the transfer market. The German side are in no rush to sell the Bundesliga attacker anytime soon.

Moukoko has six goals from 14 Bundesliga appearances this season, and Dortmund are keen to develop him into a deadly striker in the coming seasons. The forward is only 18 and has plenty of time to think about his future. Liverpool are among those linked with a move for the teenager, but the Merseysiders may have to wait for some time.

There is considerable interest from Premier League sides, but the striker wants to wait and see what the future holds at Dortmund. His comments appeared on Liverpool Echo via RND, where Moukoko insists he loves the project at Borussia Dortmund.

Moukoko said, “I feel so comfortable at BVB; I love the club. I’d really love to stay at Borussia Dortmund. I want to understand what kind of project and perspective the club will offer me; it’s an important point.”

Liverpool are one of the clubs keen on the attacker. Jurgen Klopp wants to freshen up his attacking lineup next summer despite the arrivals of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez since January. The Reds manager could consider Moukoko a long-term replacement for Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian could leave when his contract ends at the end of the season.

Many top clubs, including Liverpool, are watching Moukoko in Qatar after Hansi Flick selected the Bundesliga attacker in the Germany squad. While he only played a single minute in the loss to Japan in their opener, the striker will hope for more action as the tournament progresses.

He is already one of the highly-rated strikers coming out of Germany. As time progresses, interest from the top sides could intensify. For now, Dortmund can look forward to developing him into a top asset and a formidable frontman for the club and country.
