Real Madrid signed English midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window.

Jude Bellingham was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool as well, but Real Madrid won the race for his signature. Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has now suggested to CBS Sports on Paramount+ (20/09/23 at 10:40 pm) that the Englishman might be keen on a move to the Premier League in future and that there is no better place for him to showcase his qualities than Liverpool.

Carragher added that the opportunity to showcase his qualities with the six-time Champions League winners will be an attractive proposition for the England international. To that, Thierry Henry responded that he currently plays for a club with 14 Champions League titles.

Carragher said, “He isn’t going to stay there his whole career. It’s probably hard to leave Madrid, if I am totally honest. But, at some stage, if he’s the best player in England and one of England’s greatest ever players, which I think he will become, then I think he will want to sample the Premier League. And where better than Liverpool, the six-time Champions League winners.”

Henry responded, “He plays for a team that has won 14, so that is a tough one. That is the only team that can battle those guys. Not the only one, but that’s big.”

Bellingham has been exceptional for Real Madrid so far winning multiple man-of-the-match awards and scoring important goals for the club already. There is no doubt that the 20-year-old is a world-class talent with a big future ahead of him and he will look to win major trophies in the coming seasons.

Real Madrid needed to bring in a top-class midfielder like him, especially with players Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the twilight years. Bellingham has already established himself as a key player for the Spanish club and he is likely to get better with coaching and experience. It will be interesting to see if the England international decides to move to the Premier League in future.

The player has signed a long-term contract with the Spanish giants, and it will be very difficult for any club to lure him away from Santiago Bernabeu in the coming seasons. Real Madrid have a proven track record of winning major trophies, and leaving them might not be an option for the player anytime soon.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, they would need massive financial resources to sign the England international in the near future. Liverpool were priced out of a move for Bellingham earlier this summer, and it seems highly unlikely that they will be able to afford him in the future when he is likely to cost higher.

In addition to that, Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world and joining any other club would be a step down for the England international.
