Fran Garcia has revealed that he dreams about returning to Real Madrid one day, handing Los Blancos a boost in his pursuit.

In a recent interview, as quoted by Managing Madrid, Fran Garcia has given an honest assessment of where he stands and what he wants from his future. And the 22-year-old Spanish left-back has revealed that he dreams about returning to Real Madrid but that his focus remains on Rayo Vallecano.

Fran Garcia spent his formative years with Bolanos and Real Madrid before graduating from Los Blancos’ academy a few years ago. The youngster made his first-team debut for Real Madrid in December 2018, but that was his only outing for the Merengues before they loaned him out to Rayo Vallecano for the 2020/21 season.

After a successful campaign, which ended with Rayo Vallecano returning to La Liga, Garcia returned to Real Madrid before joining Los Franjirrojos permanently last summer. And the move has paid off, with Garcia establishing himself as one of the best full-backs in the Spanish top flight, turning out 39 times across all competitions.

Garcia’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid closely monitoring his progress this season. And Garcia has revealed that he dreams about returning to Real Madrid one day but added that he remained focused on the task at hand at Rayo Vallecano.

“I’m very honest and I’ve always said it. My dream would be to return, I wish I could have that opportunity, but right now I have to focus on my current team. I will give everything on the field as I’ve done before. We will have to see what happens and make a decision.”

“When you leave Madrid it is a little bit scary because it can be tough away from Real Madrid. It’s a bubble there and it’s easier for your career to go badly away from Madrid. But sometimes I think about it and I realise that I’m here because I earned it, I don’t have to change anything.”

Recent reports have claimed that Garcia is closing in on returning to Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants prioritising re-signing the 22-year-old in the summer transfer window. With Marcelo likely to leave Real Madrid as a free agent, Los Blancos will need someone to fill the enormous void left by the legendary Brazilian defender. And Garcia could be the one to do that.
