Former Premier League scout Bryan King claimed Erling Haaland would leave Manchester City if Pep Guardiola departed the club.

Erling Haaland proved to be a phenomenon in the Premier League as he took the game by the scruff of its neck and achieved unprecedented success. He was the top scorer in the Premier League and Champions League as Manchester City lifted both trophies alongside the FA Cup to complete the treble.

While Manchester City are one of the biggest paymasters in world football, they still need to figure out Haaland’s long-term future. There are a number of suggestions ranging from a release clause to his desire to join Real Madrid, among other teams in the future,

Many have claimed they might see Haaland move about soon enough, having won everything that is there in club football with Man City. Barcelona are also one of the interested clubs, as reports suggested the 23-year-old Manchester City star has a reported clause worth €100 million for clubs outside of the Premier League.

From a financial perspective, Real Madrid might look into that apparent clause if they feel Haaland suits what they want. However, Manchester City will be in no rush to sell unless the release clause is valid and if some club comes in to trigger it.

Former Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton scout Bryan Kin, who has overseen two trials before for Haaland, made a bold claim about the 23-year-old Manchester City star’s future. In his comments on Football Insider, he claimed the Norwegian would depart as soon as Pep Guardiola does.

Kin said, “He will be at Man City certainly as long as the manager is there. “Let’s be honest, where in the world is there a better manager than Guardiola?

“It helps that they’re winning stuff – they won five trophies last year in what was Haaland’s first season there. He walked away with City as European champions, Premier League champions, Super Cup winners, League Cup winners and FA Cup winners.

Erling is a very smart boy, and so is his dad – his dad has been through the professional mill. “I’ve known him a long time, and I’m pleased for the family.”

He isn’t going to get a better manager than what he has with Guardiola, and I think the way Pep has handled him has been excellent. “

Haaland represents a top-quality centre-forward, and any club would love to take him on board, including every single one in the Premier League. He’s already one of the most expensive players in the world when it comes to wages, and there are hardly any clubs that can match those, barring Real Madrid and PSG.

Hence, when Guardiola decides to leave, Haaland will have more perspective on his head to determine where he wants to play football next. Finances will matter in that case, which probably makes the shortlist a bit more narrow for suitors chasing the 23-year-old Manchester City star.
