Don Hutchison urges Michael Olise not to join Manchester United

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the finest attacking players in the Premier League and it is no surprise that the top clubs are keen on securing his services.

Manchester United are keen on securing his signature this summer, but popular pundit Don Hutchison has now urged the Frenchman to swerve a move to Old Trafford and join a club that would help him develop further.

Hutchison believes that Olise should choose his next destination carefully. Instead of choosing to join a big club, he should join a club with a quality manager who will help him develop. Manchester United have signed a number of quality players in recent seasons, but they have failed to get the best out of their signings.

“I think if you are giving Michael Olise any advice whatsoever, choose your manager, not the club. Robbo [Paul Robinson] mentioned Man United, I think that would be the worst move for him,” he said on  BBC Radio Five Live (broadcast on 10/5; 20:56).

“I think he would just get lost. I think he would get lost at Man United, a team with poor players and he might end up playing poorly, whereas if you go somewhere for the manager, i.e. someone like play under Pep, he is going to make you better, he is going to put you in the right scenario, he is going to put you in the right position, he is going to improve you as a player, and then you will see him kick on because you can see the talent. He is so graceful. He is a fantastic young player to watch.”

Top-class talents like Jadon Sancho have failed to perform at Old Trafford and Hutchison believes that Olise could have a similar problem at Old Trafford. The popular pundit has instead urged the Crystal Palace winger to join a club like Manchester City where Pep Guardiola will be able to nurture him properly and help him fulfil his potential.

Michael Olise will want to join a top club

The 22-year-old winger has proven himself to be a quality performer in the Premier League and it remains to be seen where he ends up. There is no doubt that he’s good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the country and he could be a key player for Manchester United if the Red Devils can get the deal done.

He is capable of operating in the wide areas as well as the central attacking midfielder. He will add goals and creativity to the Manchester United attack. Despite not playing regularly season because of injuries, the winger has picked up up 10 goals and five assists in the league. He will look to take the next step in his development this summer and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
