Don Hutchison has picked Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai as the player of the season in the Premier League so far.

Dominik Szoboszlai joined Liverpool this past summer, and he has been outstanding for them. The 22-year-old has not only impressed with his creativity and technical attributes but has added defensive solidity and work-rate to the Liverpool midfield as well. And Don Hutchison has told ESPN that the youngster is the Player of the Season in the Premier League so far.

“Dominik Szoboszlai, in my opinion, is just a Rolls-Royce of a player,” he told ESPN before adding, “I’d seen him quite a few times when he was playing for Hungary and playing in the Bundesliga. And I knew how good he was, but to come into this Liverpool team in a team that’s had quite a few red cards already and still standing out, for me, I think he’s player of the season.”

The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer for Liverpool since the start of the season, and he is already one of the best players at the club. Szoboszlai is only going to get better with coaching and experience. The Hungarian is still only 22 and is likely to develop further.

The midfielder arrived at Liverpool with a lot of expectations, and he has certainly lived up to them so far. It will be interesting to see if he can guide Liverpool back into the UEFA Champions League this season. The Reds will also look to compete for major trophies, and Szoboszlai will be crucial to their ambitions this season.

The youngster has hit the ground running in the Premier League. So, it is hardly surprising that Hutchison has picked him as the Premier League Player of the Season so far. However, it is still early days, and Szoboszlai will have to build on his impressive start to life in English football and put in consistent displays over the next few months.

Liverpool have missed a complete central midfielder like him since the departure of former captain, Steven Gerrard. The 22-year-old has been handed the former Liverpool captain’s number eight shirt, and he has certainly stepped up and delivered on the expectations.

He is likely to improve as the season progresses and he gets to grips with English football. He has the physicality and technical attributes to develop into one of the best midfielders in the world, and Liverpool will hope that he can fulfil his tremendous potential with them.
