Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries insisted he is fully committed towards his national team and Inter Milan despite his rumoured link-up with Chelsea.

As relayed by Sports Witness, Dutch international Denzel Dumfries reiterated he is completely focused towards the Netherlands and Inter Milan as he has been the subject of interest for Chelsea.

The Blues had a pretty significant audition of the right back who claimed two assists and a goal as he led his nation to the World Cup quarter-final where they will meet Lionel Messi’s Argentina.

Dumfries’ significant impact could hand Inter a major windfall as the 26-year-old is poised to get a big move in the January transfer window. Chelsea stand first in the queue as Graham Potter wants him to compete with Reece James for the right wing-back spot.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest as Antonio Conte witnessed a one-man show in the pre-quarterfinal as the defender showed him what the Italian manager has been missing in North London.

Both Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty have been pretty poor throughout the season and one of them could pave the way for Dumfries who has had a stellar season so far.

Chelsea will reinvest in January to hand Potter his desired players. Dumfries is solid in his attacking antics while equally adept at defending his side.

On being asked about Chelsea’s interest in him he replied:

“Of course it’s a big compliment to be linked with Chelsea, but playing for Inter it’s big compliment too. Chelsea move in January? I’m focused on nothing else but national team and Inter.”

The player will definitely trigger a bidding war next month and it would be hard for Inter to keep him at San Siro. The Nerazzurri’s dire financial condition forced them earlier to raise funds by parting ways with some of their prime players and they might have to repeat that action to bail themselves out this time.

The West London giants are expected to initiate contact with the player’s entourage and his club soon.
