Chris Sutton praised Liverpool’s summer signing Dominik Szoboszlai, claiming he has played like a veteran since joining them.

Arsenal were linked with Dominik Szoboszlai during the January transfer window of the ‘Pandemic season’ but instead chose Martin Odegaard to come on loan. The Gunners were close and were able to identify the Hungarian playmaker as a brilliant talent with a bright future.

He then joined RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg and went on to play brilliantly for the German giants. A big move away had been on the cards since he kicked a ball in anger in the Bundesliga, and Liverpool were fortunate enough to take him this summer.

Szoboszlai had a relatively decent £60 million release clause in his contract, which Liverpool did not hesitate to trigger. Jurgen Klopp needed new ideas from his midfield, and the Hungarian international arrived with precisely those to bolster the squad.

Szoboszlai has assumed an essential role in Klopp’s system already, and many have tipped him to have exponential growth at Anfield. Still only 22, the Liverpool summer signing has an aura that oozes confidence and showcases the ability of a game-changer.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has now heaped praise on the 22-year-old star, insisting he played like a veteran in the Premier League. His comments appeared on HITC, as the former star suggested Szoboszla looked like he’s been playing here for years.

Sutton said, “Szoboszlai has just strolled into the Premier League and looks like he has been playing here for years.”

Szoboszlai scored his first Liverpool goal at the weekend with the opener against Aston Villa. The strike itself was crisp and perfect in its execution. That goal showed how mature this player is for his tender age, as Liverpool have a big weapon on their hands.

Szoboszlai, indeed, can become their game-changer. Liverpool had to bear competition, especially considering Newcastle United were interested in the Hungarian international. Overall, there is every hope for the player to evolve with time in England and become a major star of the Premier League.

However, fans must look at the future with caution as many players have, in the past, started their seasons with the best of confidence only to falter in the later years. For a start, Szoboszlai does not have an aura about him that way, and hence, there’s utmost confidence about him becoming a success for Liverpool.
