Chelsea head into the international break with positive momentum, dispatching Everton with ease to claim a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Sunday
The horrors of the season opening loss to Burnley seem to be becoming a fading memory as Chelsea notched up their second successive win to enter the international break with six points from their first three games. This time it was a straightforward 2-0 win over Everton thanks to a convincing first-half show.
Cesc Fabregas broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark thanks to a smart close-range finish, before Alvaro Morata, who provided the assist to his compatriot, doubled the lead five minutes before half-time to now have two goals and as many assists as a Chelsea player.
With Antonio Conte climbing up the table, here are the best tweets that emerged in the aftermath of the cruising win for the Premier League champions.
Chelsea have not lost a league game when they’ve lead at half-time under Antonio Conte (W20, D2).

Everton made it way too easy for us. It was literally a stroll in the park.. if only we could play them every week.

It was the Morata show, however, as the new Chelsea boy provided an assist before grabbing a goal for himself:

You won’t see Morata bullying defenders like Costa but we’re going to benefit so much this season from his movement & linkup play.

Morata reminds me of Drogba in the air, so dangerous on the header. #AM9 pic.twitter.com/O1t8HX3HWz

Chelsea fans were also excited at the prospect of Eden Hazard returning next month after a clinical performance in the Belgian’s absence:

I have just realised Eden Hazard is not even in this team and we are doing this to Everton, imagine when the main man is back #CHEEVE

Hazard is not even back yet, we’ve not witnessed the peak of Morata’s linkup. Oh Lord

Impressive half. Need more of this. With Eden Hazard returning and new players coming in, Chelsea are only going to improve.

Chelsea destroying tough teams without hazard. Imagine thinking they wont win the Title when their squad is full complete. Back to back??
