Chelsea left it late to avoid suffering a shock Premier League double from Wolves, with Eden Hazard saving their blushes with a spectacular long-range curler.
The match saw chances come few and far between, with Wolves failing to get even a touch in the Chelsea box in the first half. But, the visitors were successful in keeping their hosts at bay as well, with the Blues coming close to scoring just once. The game though, would go on turn on its head post the break.
Pretty much against the run of play, Wolves took the lead, with Raul Jimenez finishing off a fine move by his side. For the final 35 minutes or so, it was all Chelsea, although with the near misses piling up, it seemed as if it was not going to be their day.
But, then stepped up Eden Hazard, as he so often has this season, producing a beautiful long-range curler in injury-time to earn the West Londoners a hard earned point. And, unsurprisingly, the Belgian was the toast of the Chelsea fanbase on Twitter in the aftermath of the game.
EDEN HAZARD WITH A MASSIVE GOAL. MASSIVE.
THERE’S OUR BEST PLAYER! CLASS!

Hazard has 24 goal contributions in 25 starts in the Premier League with a team who lacks IQ all over the park.

Meanwhile, the focus was also on the defence that conceded a goal with the first real chance that Wolves created on the day. David Luiz, in particular, came under scrutiny, with fans calling for Andreas Christensen to get more starts.
I have no shame in admitting when I’m wrong.
Rudiger is abysmal, no like honestly he needs to be dropped for Christensen and we really need to replace Luiz if we can because his communication at the back is awful and he’s too inconsistent for my liking.

One area we must improve is CB. Luiz and Rudiger are absolutely shocking. No awarness. So clumsy. Both can’t defend. Luiz only rated for his passing.
If we get the summer we either spend big on Koulibaly or you promote Christensen and Drop Luiz or Rudiger. Don’t care who.

I think David Luiz might be my least favourite player to pull on a Chelsea shirt. Hasn’t got a clue how to defend. Cba to turn and run when he gets beaten. Then has no desire to even get in front of a person who was previously behind him for a possible rebound. #CHEWOL pic.twitter.com/FdvdJgQIyC

I love David but Christensen > Luiz.

Here’s the issue. Luiz’s individual mistakes have cost Chelsea on far too many occasions. Instead of dropping him and having Christensen get used to the system Sarri makes him the captain. Baffling. #CHEWOL

What does David Luiz actually offer?
