Chelsea continued consolidating their place in the table as they enjoyed a narrow, yet comfortable 1-0 win over Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues dominated the proceedings for much of the match, but had just a single goal to show for their efforts. Marcos Alonso’s sublime long-range free-kick was ultimately the difference as he curled the dead ball around the Southampton wall and past Fraser Forster.

And fans were in awe of the Spaniard’s effort, while also hailing his overall impact in the game, after the match drew to a close.

Tiemoue Bakayoko was solid once again, and Chelsea fan recognised the improvement in his performances in recent games.
