Bruno Guimaraes happy at Newcastle United amid Arsenal and Manchester City links

Newcastle United have received a major boost in their efforts to keep Bruno Guimaraes at the club amidst interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.

Bruno Guimaraes has been a standout performer for Newcastle United since arriving at the club in the winter of 2022. His consistent performances for the Magpies haven’t gone unnoticed and there is no shortage of interest in his services.

Arsenal and Manchester City are both keen on having him at their disposal. They have been keeping a close eye on the player’s situation at Newcastle amidst their concerns with regard to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

While both English giants are ready to pounce on any opportunity to sign the 26-year-old defensive midfielder, Guimaraes seems happy to continue at Newcastle.

Bruno Guimaraes on his future

During an interaction with Brazilian media, the former Olympique Lyon star talked about his future, he said via The Mirror: “Look, my future, to be honest, is in God’s hands.

“I have a contract with Newcastle, I’m very happy, as I said, I know how much they like me, I know everything I’ve been doing for the club. In short, I have a contract, I’m happy.

“I don’t know what can happen, we know everything about Financial Fair Play, but what I can say is that I feel happy. It’s obviously very nice to be associated with big clubs; it indicates that I’m performing well, but I’m not concerned about it, as I said, I’m happy at the club.

“I’m very happy, so let’s see what happens. I’m not in any hurry, I’m happy, and it’s up to God, let’s see what happens.”

The Magpies are not in the best of situations financially and they need to make a few major sales to balance their books. Guimaraes is one of their most saleable asset and his departure could solve quite a few problems for them.

Manchester City and Arsenal keen on Guimaraes

City are keen on incorporating his team as they feel he could play a pivotal role in their midfield. The Gunners are also looking to further bolster their midfield following another failed attempt to snatch the league title from Guardiola’s team. They feel Guimaraes could help them bridge that gap. Meanwhile, reports suggest the player prefers City over the Gunners.

While his departure could be a huge financial boost, the Magpies would prefer keeping him in their ranks. While he has a £100 million release clause that could lead to his departure, it is only active until the end of June. As a result, Newcastle are hopeful of keeping him at their disposal.

They have received a boost in their attempts to keep him at the club as the player has suggested he is quite happy at the Tyneside club. He is in no rush to make a decision about his future and with his contract at Newcastle running until 2028, he seems interested in continuing at the club despite the interest from top clubs.
