Anis Hadj Moussa wants Premier League move amid Aston Villa, Newcastle United links

Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa is keen on securing a move to the Premier League this summer, with Aston Villa and Newcastle United emerging as his preferred destinations despite lucrative interest from Saudi Arabia.

According to Maghreb Foot, Hadj Moussa’s representative, Mohamed Dahman, has confirmed that the player is determined to test himself in the Premier League. Dahman has publicly revealed that his client had rejected approaches from Saudi Pro League clubs, and the report adds that he also told the outlet that the 24-year-old is eager to switch to English football.

He said: “Anis Hadj Moussa will play for another team, God willing.”

Aston Villa are believed to be one of the strongest contenders for the winger’s signature, with Newcastle United also monitoring his situation closely. Both clubs are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season, and Hadj Moussa has emerged as a player of significant interest following his breakthrough year at Feyenoord.

Saudi clubs Al-Ahli and Al-Qadsiah are also understood to have submitted attractive financial proposals for the Algerian international. The attacker has rejected Saudi offers, setting his sights on the Premier League.

Hadj Moussa’s eagerness to leave reportedly stems partly from Feyenoord’s recent managerial change. The winger enjoyed a strong relationship with former manager Robin van Persie, whose departure is believed to have prompted his desire to seek a fresh challenge.

Aston Villa may currently hold an advantage in the race thanks to the prospect of UEFA Champions League football, while Newcastle remain an attractive option under Eddie Howe as they continue rebuilding their squad for another push towards the top end of the Premier League.

Where will Moussa end up?

Hadj Moussa’s stock has risen considerably after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign in which he contributed 14 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for Feyenoord. His performances also earned him a place in Algeria’s World Cup squad, further enhancing his reputation on the international stage.

Although the winger remains under contract with Feyenoord until 2030 after signing an extension last year, speculation surrounding his future continues to intensify. With the player now reportedly prioritising a move to the Premier League and Aston Villa and Newcastle both in the picture, the race for one of Dutch football’s most exciting attacking talents could gather pace in the coming weeks.
