Five Players Chelsea should scout at UEFA Euro 2024

The UEFA Euro 2024 is just around the corner, and we suggest five players Chelsea should have their sights on during the month-long extravaganza.

Several top-class talents will be in action in Germany across June and July, and clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, will be keeping tabs on their performances, especially heading into the summer transfer window.

Here at The Hard Tackle, we look at five players Chelsea should consider for the summer. The Blues need to strengthen multiple areas of their squad, and they should be keeping tabs on the performances of these players who could potentially improve them next season pull stop

Chelsea have had mediocre campaigns in the last two years, and they will look to get back to their best. They need the right additions during the summer transfer window in order to bounce back strongly.

Benjamin Sesko

The Slovenian international will be in action this summer in the European Championships, and he is undoubtedly one of the finest young attacking talents in European football right now. He was outstanding for RB Leipzig this past season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions.

It is no secret that Chelsea are in desperate need of a quality goalscorer, and Sesko would be a long term investment for them. While a summer move is out of the question after he signed a contract extension, the Blues can scout him for a future move.

The 21-year-old can prove to be a long-term upgrade on Nicolas Jackson, who has been quite underwhelming this past season. Sesko has been linked with clubs like Arsenal as well, and it will be interesting to see if he can impress with his performances in the Euros and secure a big move in the coming years.

Semih Kilicsoy

The Turkish international has been a key player for Besiktas this past season. Despite being 18, he has established himself as an important first-team player. The youngster scored 12 goals across all competitions.

The teenage prospect is capable of operating in the wide areas as well. Chelsea could certainly use a dynamic forward like him. The Blues were overly dependent on Cole Palmer for goals and creativity last season, and they need more quality in that department.

Kilicsoy would be a long-term investment for them, and he will add goals and creativity to the side. The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, and it remains to be seen whether he can impress sufficiently during the European Championships and convince the big clubs to move for him.

Chelsea have shown a willingness to invest in talented young players, and it seems that they are building a squad for the future. Signing the Turkish international could prove to be a wise long-term investment.

Johan Bakayoko

The Belgian winger has been quite impressive for PSV Eindhoven, and and he could prove to be an upgrade on players like Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk. Chelsea have spent substantial amounts of money on the two wingers, but both players have been largely underwhelming so far.

The Blues need more cutting edge in the final third, and Bakayoko will add pace and flair to the side. He will add unpredictability to the Chelsea attack and help them create goalscoring opportunities. He scored 14 goals last season and picked up 14 assists along the way as well.

Chelsea are currently lacking a quality dribbler like Eden Hazard, and Bakayoko could fill that void. The 21-year-old could add a new dimension to the Chelsea attack next season. Belgium have a quality squad, and it will be interesting to see if Bakayoko can make his mark during the Euros.

Milos Kerkez

Kerkez has been a reliable performer in the Premier League with Bournemouth, and he should prove to be an exceptional acquisition for Chelsea. The Blues spent a substantial amount of money on Marc Cucurella. But the signing has clearly not worked out. The Spaniard has been quite poor for Chelsea and he will need to be replaced.

The Blues must invest in a quality left-back this summer, and Kerkez would be a quality acquisition. It will be interesting to see if he can impress at the international level with Hungary this summer.

The Bournemouth defender could be tempted to join Chelsea if the opportunity presents itself and he will be expected to compete with Ben Chilwell for the starting spot. The youngster is well settled in English football, and he will be expected to make an immediate impact.

Xavi Simons

The Dutch international has done quite well in the Bundesliga this past season with RB Leipzig, and he is one of the most exciting young players to watch out in the European Championships this summer.

Simons scored ten goals and picked up 15 assists in all competitions, and he is capable of slotting into multiple roles. He will add goals and creativity to the Chelsea attack. The Dutchman is capable of operating as the central attacking midfielder as well as a winger.

He could prove to be the ideal long-term acquisition for the Blues as they look to reshape their attacking unit. The Dutchman could form a quality partnership with the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer behind the centre forward. However, Chelsea face stiff competition from Arsenal, Manchester United, and Barcelona, among others.
