Predicted Manchester United lineup against Brighton & Hove Albion: Rashford, Hojlund to return; Bruno Fernandes fit

Bruno Fernandes is fit and available to represent Manchester United against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Sunday.

Manchester United will aim to end their dreadful 2023/24 Premier League campaign on a high when they lock horns with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Sunday evening. And Erik ten Hag has greeted positive updates on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Bruno Fernandes is fit and available after appearing knackered after the game against Newcastle United earlier this week. However, Harry Maguire (muscle injury), Luke Shaw (muscle injury), Raphael Varane (muscular), Victor Lindelof (hamstring), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Mason Mount (unspecified), and Anthony Martial (groin) remain on the sidelines.

Erik ten Hag provided a fitness update on his squad ahead of the game while speaking to the club media. The Dutch tactician spoke about Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Lisandro Martinez.

The Manchester United manager said, “Bruno didn’t miss so much and he’s fit. I would say that is one of my least concerns, if he can keep going. He’s fresh and he’s in very good form but the others you mentioned, it’s important [to get game time].”

“They missed some games. Rashford, since Coventry, but, of course, Licha Martinez missed, I would say, almost the whole season. So every minute that he can get, we have to give him.”

Rashford should return to the starting lineup after his appearance off the bench against Newcastle United. Meanwhile, Rasmus Hojlund will spearhead the Manchester United attack against Brighton, with Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo completing the numbers in the final third.

However, Lisandro Martinez will have to suffice with another appearance off the bench as he continues to build up his fitness ahead of the FA Cup final. So, Casemiro will start as a makeshift centre-back again, pairing up with Jonny Evans at the heart of the defence.

Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will join Casemiro and Evans in the backline, with Andre Onana taking his usual spot between the sticks. Finally, the midfield double pivot should feature Sofyan Amrabat and Kobbie Mainoo, with Scott McTominay being an option on the bench.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Evans, Dalot; Amrabat, Mainoo; Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund
