Predicted Chelsea lineup against West Ham United: unchanged lineup likely

Mauricio Pochettino will likely name an unchanged starting lineup when Chelsea and West Ham United clash on Sunday.

Chelsea will aim to continue the momentum when they welcome West Ham United to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon for a second successive London derby. And Mauricio Pochettino does not have any new issues hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

While Robert Sanchez is closing in on returning to action, Sunday’s game might have come too soon for him. The same goes for Axel Disasi, Levi Colwill, and Christopher Nkunku, who might not be fit enough to start against West Ham.

Meanwhile, Thiago Silva, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Malo Gusto, Ben Chilwell, Enzo Fernandez, Carney Chukwuemeka, Romeo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Raheem Sterling remain on the sidelines.

Pochettino did not provide any fitness updates on his squad ahead of the game, with his pre-match press conference featuring comments on the upcoming game. The Chelsea manager said, “It is the most dangerous game because now we have to keep the same mentality for Sunday.”

“We are playing a team who are so strong, have physicality and West Ham are having a fantastic season and have been competing in Europe. For us, we need to recover the players. We do not have too many options to add fresh people to the squad and they have had the whole week to prepare. That is why the most dangerous games are coming.”

Considering the short turnover between games, we will unlikely see many changes to the matchday squad or the starting lineup. So, Djordje Petrovic will take his spot between the sticks, with Chelsea lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against West Ham United.

The backline should feature Alfie Gilchrist, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, and Marc Cucurella. As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Moises Caiedo and Conor Gallagher in the absence of Enzo Fernandez.

Cole Palmer will reprise the no. 10 role, with Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk being the two wide attackers. Finally, Nicolas Jackson should lead the line for Chelsea against West Ham on Sunday.
