Liverpool open talks with 50-year-old Brentford boss Thomas Frank as their search for a new manager continues.

According to a report by Tipsbladet, Liverpool are interested in appointing Thomas Frank as their new manager. The Brentford boss is a part of their shortlist and the Reds have initiated discussions as they look for the ideal Jurgen Klopp replacement.

Liverpool’s search for Klopp’s replacement continues

At the start of the year, Klopp announced his decision to part ways with the Merseyside club after the ongoing season. And, Liverpool have been on the lookout for the perfect candidate for the job ever since.

Xabi Alonso was their priority target but he ended up deciding to stay at Bayer Leverkusen. As a result, the Reds have been forced to look at other options from their shortlist.

Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot are two candidates who have been looked at by Liverpool. Both have done wonders for their respective clubs and the Reds are considering having him on their bench.

Thomas Frank on the Liverpool bench?

Brentford’s Thomas Frank is another name on their radar. The 50-year-old has done a great job since taking charge of the Bees back in 2018. He has completely transformed them, helped them earn promotion and established themselves in the English top flight.

He now has years of experience managing in the Premier League and the Reds feel he could be a great option to take over from Klopp. While Frank’s style of play isn’t as attacking as that of Liverpool, it has a lot to do with the fact he has limited resources. The belief is that if he gets the type of players he wants, he could play a dominating brand of football.

As a result, the Reds are looking to have him on their bench starting next season. He has been on their radar for a while now and they have finally initiated discussions to appoint the 50-year-old. Representatives of the Merseyside club’s owners were involved in a meeting with Frank’s entourage to discuss the Liverpool job.

While details of the meeting haven’t been disclosed yet, Liverpool have made the first move and Frank is a serious candidate to replace Klopp at Anfield.
