Liverpool are ready to push hard for the services of Thomas Frank amidst a major update regarding their primary target Ruben Amorim.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Liverpool are all set to step up their interest in Thomas Frank. The Reds are looking at the 50-year-old Brentford manager as a potential replacement for Jurgen Klopp, following a new development related to Ruben Amorim. Frank is admired by a lot of people at the Merseyside club, and they feel he could be an ideal fit.

West Ham United to challenge Liverpool for Ruben Amorim

Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim has been Liverpool’s priority target to take over from Jurgen Klopp ever since Xabi Alonso committed his future to Bayer Leverkusen. The Merseyside club have been working on a deal to bring the 39-year-old Portuguese manager to the club for a while now.

While they have made significant progress in their pursuit of Amorim’s signatures, West Ham United have entered the race for the Sporting CP manager’s services. The Hammers are on the lookout for an ideal replacement for David Moyes, and they feel Amorim fits the bill.

West Ham have opened concrete talks with the Portuguese club as they look to beat the Reds to his signatures. And, this has been seen as a major blow by Liverpool’s CEO of football Michael Edwards. As a result, they have started to look elsewhere for other candidates and Brentford’s Thomas Frank is quite high on their wishlist.

Liverpool to step up interest in Thomas Frank

The 50-year-old has done wonders for the Bees since taking charge back in 2018. He has helped them gain promotion to the English top flight and has helped them stay in the first division despite all the difficulties. Frank’s Brentford are ten points clear of the drop zone, and they are expected to be in the top flight next season as well.

Frank’s work at Brentford has been impressive, and there are a lot of people at Liverpool who admire the 50-year-old. As a result, they consider him to be their backup option in case they fail to land Amorim amidst competition from West Ham.

The Reds are all set to step up their interest in his services following the update related to Amorim. While Frank is quite happy at Brentford, if Liverpool knock on his door, he might not be able to turn down this big an opportunity. Meanwhile, with Frank’s contract with the Bees running until the summer of 2027, the Reds will have to pay significant compensation to appoint him as their new boss.
