Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho might not make the Manchester United starting lineup against Sheffield United on Wednesday.

Manchester United will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League after a four-match winless run when they welcome Sheffield United to Old Trafford on Wednesday night. And Erik ten Hag has new injury concerns hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Scott McTominay, Sofyan Amrabat, and Marcus Rashford are the latest players to pick up injuries after the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City. The trio will unlikely regain fitness to feature in the starting lineup against Sheffield United. In addition, the Dutchman is sweating over the fitness of Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes.

Meanwhile, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Willy Kambwala, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, and Anthony Martial remain on the sidelines. Erik ten Hag spoke about his squad’s injury crisis during his pre-match press conference.

The Manchester United manager said, “Yeah, so we had a problem with Garnacho, that’s why we took him off during the game but I think he will be fine. Scott McTominay, we have to assess today.”

“That is really doubtful. Marcus Rashford is also doubtful and then there was an issue with Bruno Fernandes, with the hand. But I think he can make it. So we have some doubts going into the game tomorrow.”

Despite the doubts, a few Manchester United players will play with their injuries, as Harry Maguire did in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City. Maguire will again pair up with Casemiro at the heart of the defence, with Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka being the two full-backs. Andre Onana will take his usual spot between the sticks.

As for the midfield unit, the injury crisis means Christian Eriksen and Kobbie Mainoo are automatic picks in the double pivot. Bruno Fernandes will reprise the no. 10 role, with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony being the two wide attackers. Finally, Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line for the home side against Sheffield United.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Onana; Dalot, Casemiro, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka; Eriksen, Mainoo; Antony, Bruno Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund
