Liverpool are expected to back Ruben Amorim all the way if the 39-year-old Portuguese manager takeover from Jurgen Klopp.

According to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Ruben Amorim will be backed and given the time to implement his ideas if he ends up taking over from Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool’s new manager. The 39-year-old Sporting CP manager is the leading candidate for the job at Anfield.

Ruben Amorim to take over from Klopp?

Jurgen Klopp’s decision to part ways with Liverpool did come as a shock to one and all but he did give the Reds enough time to figure out who will take over from him. While the focus is on finishing the season in the best possible way, people at the club are working behind the scenes to sort out the managerial situation.

Xabi Alonso was the leading candidate for the job but he ended up committing his future to Bayer Leverkusen. As a result, the Reds were forced to turn their attention towards other candidates and recent reports suggest Amorim is at the top of their wishlist.

The 39-year-old has done wonders at Sporting CP. He has already helped them win multiple titles and they are on course to add a few more this season. His ability to bring the best out of his players and the style of play is what attracts the Reds.

Amorim to be backed by Liverpool

They are working on securing his signatures and if reports are to be believed, they already have an agreement in principle with the Sporting boss. With Amorim expected to take over from Klopp, O’Rourke talked about a transition that will happen at the club.

He feels if the Portuguese manager takes charge of the Merseyside club, he will be given time. Liverpool fans are known to back their manager and they are expected to get behind him as well. He will be allowed enough time to implement his playing style and get his ideas across to his players even if the results don’t go his way initially.

They will allow him the time to create the foundation needed and get things right in the dugout. As things stand, the 39-year-old is the favourite to take over from Klopp but nothing can be guaranteed until an official confirmation arrives.
