Liverpool are reportedly closing in on landing 39-yaer-old Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim, a target for Chelsea.

It appears that Liverpool are now stepping up their efforts to bring Ruben Amorim to Anfield, and a report from Florian Plettenberg has claimed that the Reds have already secured a verbal agreement with the Sporting CP manager on a three-year contract.

Amorim has been linked with a move to Chelsea as well. But it seems that Liverpool are ahead of them in the race. Liverpool will have to bring in a quality replacement for Jurgen Klopp, and Amorim should prove to be a superb addition.

The 39-year-old has proven his quality with the Portuguese club, and he is certainly good enough to manage in the Premier League. His attacking approach and ability to grind out results with weaker teams could make him a good fit for Liverpool. He is also used to working on a limited budget and therefore he should fit in well at Anfield.

Liverpool believe in sustainable growth, and Amorim seems like the ideal option for them. Replacing Klopp will be a difficult task for any manager. But the 39-year-old is certainly talented enough to manage the biggest clubs in the world. A move to Liverpool will be an exciting opportunity for him and he will look to prove himself at the highest level.

It will be interesting to see if he can carry forward Klopp’s legacy and help Liverpool win major trophies in the coming seasons as well. With both parties securing and agreement, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can thrash out an agreement with Sporting CP now. If they manage to convince the Portuguese outfit to let him leave, the deal could be done soon.

Chelsea might need a new manager soon

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to move onto other targets now. The Blues might need to appoint a new manager in the summer. They have had a disappointing season by their standards, and Mauricio Pochettino has failed to get the best out of the squad.

The Argentine tactician was backed heavily in last summer’s transfer window. But Chelsea have failed to deliver on the pitch. It will not be a surprise if Pochettino is shown the door this coming summer.
