Liverpool have reportedly offered a three-year deal for managerial prospect Ruben Amorim, who seems like the hot favourite for the job.

Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda insists Liverpool have tabled a three-year contract offer for top managerial target Ruben Amorim. The Sporting CP boss has emerged as one of the hot favourites to replace Jurgen Klopp, with Barcelona also keen.

Liverpool’s three-year deal for Ruben Amorim

Liverpool have ramped up their hunt for a new manager over the last few weeks and may have narrowed their search down to Ruben Amorim. Barcelona have been looking at the Portuguese boss for some time, although recent reports suggest they might have bowed out of the race altogether.

If that is true, then Liverpool may have a clear path for the 39-year-old Sporting CP manager, especially after top target Xabi Alonso chose to stay at Bayer Leverkusen. Based on their style and structure demands, Amorim might be the next best fit for the club, as they have identified him as the viable successor for Jurgen Klopp.

Now, Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda insists Liverpool have already tabled a three-year contract for Amorim to consider. He also suggests the salary demands of the 39-year-old is not a problem for the Merseysiders, which points towards a smooth transition into the new role.

Liverpool have also learned the 39-year-old’s reduced release clause despite reports stating he had a clause as big as €30 million. However, that clause is for Portuguese clubs only, meaning clubs like Liverpool will have to pay a reported €10 million to take him from Sporting CP.

Liverpool planning a new structure

The departure of Klopp will bring about some massive changes on the pitch and in the background. Liverpool have already re-appointed Michael Edwards in a more prominent leadership role to oversee football operations, while Richard Hughes is expected to take the sporting director’s position.

A new manager would be the extension of that new structure, with Amorim seemingly looking like a good fit. Whether the 39-year-old Portuguese boss chooses Liverpool remains the question, but at this stage, he does appear like the hot favourite to take over from Klopp.
