According to The Daily Telegraph, the Canadian FA are considering former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard as their next manager. Mauro Biello is currently serving the national team as the interim head coach.

Lampard reasonably good job at Chelsea, and he could prove to be an interesting appointment for them. The Canadian national team is packed with talented young players, and Lampard did well to nurture young players during his time at Chelsea. However, his most recent permanent spell at Everton was quite disappointing.

It will be interesting to see if the former Chelsea midfielder is willing to take up a coaching role with the Canadian national team. Lampard will be hoping to make his mark as a manager in the coming years, and this could be an exciting opportunity for him. If he manages to impress with Canada at the international level, he might get to manage big clubs once again.

Lampard would be an interesting appointment

If the former England international can modify certain aspects of his coaching, there is no reason why he cannot succeed at the highest level. Lampard was praised for his time at Chelsea despite not guiding them to trophies. However, he will need to balance his approach and style so that his teams can produce results consistently as well.

With that said, the Englishman is still relatively young for a manager, and he will clearly improve with experience. Managing an international team could be the ideal experience for him at this stage of his career, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few months.

It remains to be seen whether the Canadian FA decide to appoint Lampard in the coming months. With the World Cup coming up in 2026, the former England international level will have plenty of time to groom his squad and prepare them for a major tournament.

They will be one of the host nations for the tournament and Canada will be hoping to do well in the World Cup. The fans will be expectant, and Lampard will need to get his team firing in a major tournament.
