Franck Haise has emerged as a surprise contender for the Liverpool job following his fantastic work with RC Lens in Ligue 1.
According to Caught Offside, Franck Haise is the new surprise name with links to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. The RC Lens boss has proven his worth over the current and previous seasons, as he could become someone the Reds might consider a contender to manage the club next season.
Franck Haise is on Liverpool’s radar
Liverpool will intensify their search for a new manager once the dust settles on their background appointments. The Merseysiders are on the verge of appointing Michael Edwards as FSG CEO of Football, and with him, Richar Hughes is expected to join in the Sporting DIrector’s role.
The duo will appoint Liverpool’s new manager and find the ideal replacement for the outgoing Jurgen Klopp. A host of names have already been linked with the coveted job, and now the latest to arrive on the list appears to be RC Lens boss Franck Haise.
Haise has done a fantastic job at Lens, guiding them to a surprise second place in the domestic league, finishing just a point behind eventual champions PSG. He has them chasing a top-four place this season, although they are currently fifth, level on points with fourth-placed LOSC Lille.
Liverpool are reportedly watching him over and his disciplined management with Lens. The 52-year-old Ligue 1 manager has his pedigree for the Merseyside job, but other candidates have more flair and probably a higher standing for the role, although nothing’s been decided yet on that front.
Liverpool’s probable candidates to replace Klopp
With Haise emerging as a surprise name on Liverpool’s list, the 52-year-old Ligue 1 manager is not the only name and by far not their primary target by any stretch. Xabi Alonso remains their priority target, while Ruben Amorim is also considered a front-runner.
Alonso remains unsure about taking up the Liverpool role, which may pave the way for other candidates to stake their claim on the job. Nothing has been decided from the club’s point of view, as all names are under consideration, including that of Haise.
