Chelsea are looking at Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi as a potential managerial replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.
According to a report by Fichajes, Chelsea are considering the idea of making a move for Roberto De Zerbi. The Brighton boss has proved himself in the English top flight and the Blues feel he could be an ideal for the club. Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t been able to get going at the London club and he could be shown the exit door in the near future.
Pochettino’s time at Chelsea could end soon
Pochettino took charge of Chelsea last summer as the Blues looked to bounce back after a poor 2022/23 season. While they expected him to turn things around, nothing much has changed. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss hasn’t been able to get the desired results.
They are currently 11th in the Premier League and finishing in a European spot looks very unlikely. On top of that, they recently lost the EFL Cup final against Liverpool. Chelsea have already lost 12 matches this term and the Argentine manager’s place in the team is under scrutiny.
The Blues have already started preparing for the future, they are on the lookout for a new manager. Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi is one of the names on their radar. The Italian manager has made quite a name for himself over the past few seasons.

Chelsea feel he could be an ideal fit for their young squad because of what he has done at Brighton. While his contract with the Seagulls runs until the summer of 2026, the Blues are still willing to try by offering him more wages.
However, there is a release clause in the Italian manager’s contract worth around €15 million and negotiation could be tricky because of that. Meanwhile, there is interest in him from Barcelona as well as Liverpool.
Xavi and Jurgen Klopp have both already made a decision regarding their future. Both of them will be parting ways with their respective clubs. As a result, they are on the lookout for a new boss and De Zerbi is one of the names on their list of potential candidates.
