Ajax are currently fifth in the league table, and it has been a disappointing season for a club of their stature. Lijnders has shown his quality at Liverpool as a part of Jurgen Klopp’s staff, and he could be an interesting appointment.
Klopp has previously admitted that the Dutchman has played a key role in developing the highly attractive brand of attacking football within the club. Lijnders might feel that this is the right time for him to take the next step in his career and test himself as a head coach.
