Jurgen Klopp has no interest in taking the soon-to-be vacant Barcelona job as he looks forward to some ‘rest’ after his Liverpool tenure.

According to Catalan outlet CCMA, Jurgen Klopp has ruled out becoming Barcelona’s next manager in the close season. The current Liverpool boss will leave his role at Anfield in the summer and looks forward to some well-earned rest for the time being.

Liverpool fans were in for a shocker when Jurgen Klopp announced his decision to leave the club when the current season ends. The Anfield fanbase has all been unhappy about the outcome, with Klopp set to bring a tremendous period of success and togetherness to the club to an end.

In the days following his announcement, the media has spent an enormous amount of time discussing his future and the possible successor that will replace the German. Xabi Alonso remains the early favourite to take over from Klopp, and there are many others in the frame.

For Klopp, it was a decision he explained in the now-famous announcement video that was influenced by a lack of energy to continue in that role any more. That immediately pointed towards the German’s potential plan to take a break from professional football management, and that might remain the case.

However, in the days following Klopp’s announcement, Xavi Hernandez made a similar decision to leave Barcelona at the end of the current campaign. In the immediate aftermath, the Spanish press has increasingly linked Klopp to the Camp Nou job and as the Spaniard’s replacement.

Klopp does not have any interest in taking over at Barcelona and has reportedly ruled out taking over the job for the time being. The Blaugrana and their fans might have been hopeful to see the German take over from Xavi, but that may not materialise.

There are some other candidates in the frame to make the grade at Barcelona, including Bologna’s Thiago Motta. But so far, Deco has not decided on a sure name. For now, Klopp’s name can be taken off that list, as the Liverpool manager will look forward to a well-earned rest for the foreseeable future.

He might return to management in the future, possibly after a season out of the game. During this period, Klopp may spend more time with his family and probably even move back to his homeland, Germany, away from the pressure of the Premier League and football in general.
