Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson should return to the Chelsea starting lineup against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Chelsea will be eager to return to winning ways when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. And Mauricio Pochettino has greeted a positive update on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Nicolas Jackson is available after representing Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations. But Robert Sanchez, Levi Colwill, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, and Lesley Ugochukwu remain on the sidelines.

Pochettino provided a team news update during his pre-match press conference. He said, “I don’t believe Levi will be involved. Today he didn’t train, and we’ll see tomorrow. Asking me today, no, but tomorrow we’ll see his evolution.”

On Chalobah, the Chelsea boss said, “Trevoh has trained really well. We will need permission from the medical team for him to have the possibility to be with the squad. At the moment, we don’t have permission, so we will see.”

With Colwill unavailable and Pochettino easing Ben Chilwell into the thick of the regular action, he should make a change in the left-back slot. So, Malo Gusto will feature as a makeshift left-back, with Axel Disasi starting on the opposite flank.

Thiago Silva and Benoit Badiashile should form the central defensive partnership, with Chalobah and Colwill on the sidelines. Meanwhile, Djordje Petrovic will continue deputising for Robert Sanchez between the sticks.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in the double pivot. But Carney Chukwuemeka will be an option on the bench for the second half for Pochettino.

Christopher Nkunku should reprise the no. 10 role, with Conor Gallagher dropping to the bench. Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson should spearhead the Chelsea attack against Wolverhampton Wanderers. So, Cole Palmer will move to the right flank, with Noni Madueke moving out. Raheem Sterling will complete the numbers in the final third.
