Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have approached Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino. And it remains to be seen whether the 51-year-old takes over as the long-term replacement for Graham Potter. Chelsea have put Frank Lampard in charge on an interim basis until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, a report from the Independent claims that Chelsea have had further talks with the former Tottenham manager regarding the managerial vacancy and Pochettino’s clarity of vision has impressed the co-owner, Todd, Boehly. It will be interesting to see if the Blues are prepared to finalise a move for the 51-year-old now.

He has been linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur as well. Pochettino did an outstanding job at the North London club during his previous spell in the Premier League, and he helped them challenge for the league title and the Champions League.

Chelsea have a talented young squad at their disposal, and Pochettino could be the ideal manager for them. He helped groom a talented young squad at Tottenham and Southampton before leaving the Premier League.

The 51-year-old Argentine is undoubtedly a more proven option to manage Chelsea compared to the likes of Graham Potter and Frank Lampard. His arrival would certainly excite the Chelsea fans. The Argentine’s high-intensity attacking football could fit in well with the current squad of players at Chelsea.

The Blues have invested in a number of quality attackers recently, and they will certainly benefit from playing under Pochettino. The 51-year-old knows the Premier League well having spent several years in England with Southampton and Tottenham.
