Real Madrid have been linked with a move for former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
Carlo Ancelotti has been quite unconvincing in La Liga this season, and Real Madrid are expected to lose their domestic crown to bitter rivals Barcelona. As per Fichajes, the Spanish giants have already started looking at alternatives. And Jose Mourinho has emerged as a potential option.
The Portuguese tactician has managed Real Madrid in the past, and he helped them win a number of trophies during his time at the club. Mourinho has done an impressive job at AS Roma so far. And it remains to be seen whether the former Chelsea boss is keen on returning to the Spanish club at the end of the season.
He has a good relationship with club president Florentino Perez. And it will be interesting to see if the two parties can come to an agreement soon. Real Madrid clearly need to improve to win major trophies consistently, and the squad needs some additions. Perhaps a fresh approach under a new manager could do them a world of good next season.
Mourinho is a proven winner across multiple leagues, and he knows the club well. The former Chelsea manager has dealt with the expectations at the club like Real Madrid before, and he would be a good fit for the Spanish giants.
While Ancelotti helped them win the league title and the Champions League last season, Real Madrid have been quite underwhelming in the league this season. The Italian is undoubtedly a Real Madrid legend who has proven himself on multiple occasions for a number of clubs around Europe.
It remains to be seen where he ends up next season. He is good enough to manage any club in the world. Meanwhile, Mourinho helped Roma win the UEFA Europa conference league last season and his potential departure will come as a blow to the Italian club.
