Ruben Amorim is ready to take over the reins of a Premier League club amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a report by Football Insider, Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim is ready for the Premier League. And, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having him as their new boss. The 38-year-old has impressed one and all with his managerial performances at the Portuguese club and is expected to arrive in the English top flight soon.

Antonio Conte’s future at Spurs has been uncertain for a while now. And, after the Italian manager’s explosive press conference post their 3-3 draw against Southampton, his departure is almost certain. The Tottenham manager blasted his players as well as the club in his media interactions and things are not looking for him.

Spurs were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by AC Milan in the recent past. And, post that, the Italian manager’s job has been under scrutiny. Their defeat against the Italian club meant they were heading into another trophyless season having been knocked out of other tournaments prior to that.

While Spurs are pondering on whether to sack Conte during the international break or let him leave after the end of the season, they have started to look for alternatives. And, it is believed that Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim is a part of their potential targets.

The 38-year-old manager has done a great job with the Portuguese club. They have made it to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League after knocking out Arsenal. And are currently fourth in the Portuguese top flight.

In the ongoing season, Amorim has registered 25 wins in his 41 outings. The Portuguese managers’ team have only lost 5 matches all season long. His current contract with Sporting runs until the summer of 2026. However, there is a €20 million release clause in his contract that can be triggered in order to land him at the club.

Amorim has already guided Sporting to a league win in his second season. And it is quite evident why clubs are after the 38-year-old. He was interviewed by Chelsea last autumn. But, they decided to go ahead with Graham Potter.

While there are other clubs elite clubs who are keen on having the Portuguese manager on their bench, Tottenham can surely manage to land him at the club. However, it will be interesting to see if they are willing to trigger the release clause or not.
