Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ruben Amorim as their new manager as they look to replace Antonio Conte.

According to a report by Correio da Manhã Weekend via Sport Witness, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Ruben Amorim as their new manager as they plan for a future without Antonio Conte. The Sporting CP manager has done a great job in the Portuguese top flight and his performances have attracted a lot of attention of late.

Spurs are not convinced by the Italian manager and are looking part ways with him by mutual consent. Even Conte is unsure of his future and believes that the club could sack him in the near future. The English club are looking to sign Amorim, who took charge at the Portuguese club back in March 2020 and has done wonders since joining them.

Meanwhile, the former Chelsea boss signed for Tottenham back in the winter of 2021. He replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at the club. Antonio Conte joined Spurs on an 18-month contract. But, his future at this point in time looks uncertain.

While there is an option to extend his contract by another 12 months but it looks like he is all set to part ways with the club after Tottenham were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 by AC Milan.

The Italian manager has done a decent job in the English top flight this season. But, the board is not happy with him as they are no longer in contention to win a silverware. They are looking for a new manager and believe Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim could be a great fit for the club.

Amorim’s contract at the Portuguese club ends in the summer of 2026, but he has a release clause of €20 million. Spurs can only land him at the club if they are willing to pay to acquire his services.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese manager has a great record in the ongoing season. His team have featured in 39 matches and have won 23 of them. Sporting CP are currently fourth in the Portuguese top flight and are still alive in the Europa League.

Amorim’s managerial performance has been impressive of late. And, it is pretty much understandable why Spurs want to land the 38-year-old on their bench ahead of next season. However, it won’t be that easy a task for the London club to land the Sporting CP manager. Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in having the services of Amorim.

They were recently knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Bayern Munich. And, are looking to move on from Christophe Galtier. PSG are on the look for a new boss. They want to sign the 38-year-old to lead their ambitious project. The French club are amongst the richest in world football. And, it won’t be a problem for them to pay his release clause.

How stupid is everyone to think it’s the manager who needs changing. We’ve had about 16 managers under Levy and they’ve all had similar results. The constant in our failure is ENIC, Levy and Lewis and until we rid the club of those parasites nothing will change, no matter what manager you bring in. Tha fans need to wake up and demand a change of owner.
