Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham keeping tabs on Luis Enrique

Premier League clubs Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Luis Enrique as their new boss.

According to a report by Fichajes, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Luis Enrique as their new manager. The three Premier League clubs haven’t had the best of seasons and are looking at potential options before heading into the next season.

Luis Enrique’s last job was with the Spain international team which he left after the FIFA World Cup 2022’s disappointment. He had a great track overall record with the national team but failed to deliver in the biggest tournament of them all.

Spain lost to Japan in the group stage before being knocked out at the hands of Morocco in the Round of 16. Things didn’t work out as expected and Enrique parted ways with the national team.

Enrique was in charge of Barcelona for almost three years from the summer of 2014 to 2017. He led them for over 1000 days and won numerous trophies with the club before parting ways. The Spanish manager had won 138 matches out of the 181 he was in charge of during his time with the Catalan giants.

The 52-year-old surely has it in him to turn around the fortunes of any club he joins. And, it is quite understandable why Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Luis Enrique.

Chelsea have struggled under Graham Potter. Despite signing a lot of players during the winter window, they haven’t managed to get the right results. They are currently 11th in the league and a top-four finish is beyond their reach at this point in time.

The Blues are already on the look for a new manager. They believe that the former Barcelona boss could be the right man to lead them into the future. However, they will face tough competition from Tottenham.

Antonio Conte’s future at the club became uncertain after his team was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the Round of 16. With their early exit from the UCL, their hopes of winning a major trophy this season came to an end. As a result, they are looking for a new boss. And feel that Enrique could be the right man to replace Conte.

Liverpool are also looking at options. While they will prefer to stick with Jurgen Klopp for as long as possible. But, that could change if he fails to end the season inside the top four. A few weeks back a top-four finish looked impossible. But, they have managed to get within touching distance of the top four. With three big clubs ready to battle for Enrique, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top at the end.
