Thiago Alcantara remains unavailable as Liverpool get set to lock horns with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool come into this game on the back of a 7-0 win over bitter rivals Manchester United, and they will be full of confidence right now. Bournemouth, on the other hand, are going through a rough patch, and they will need to start picking up points if they want to survive in the Premier League.

The Reds will be without the services of Thiago Alcantara, Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez as they head to the Vitality Stadium for the lunch-time kick-off. Thiago is sidelined with a hip injury, while Diaz is still recovering from his knee injury. Gomez is sidelined with a muscle problem.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed during his pre-match presser that all three players are ruled out for this weekend. But they could be back in action after the international break.

“All three not available [this weekend],” Klopp said on Friday before continuing, “Different stages, I would say. Joey might be able to train at the beginning of the week; Luis I hope during next week. After the international break, then obviously for both [it’s] possible.”

“Thiago we will see. None of them trained yet with the team and then we will see how that develops in the next couple of weeks and we will know more. Apart from that, from the last game nothing [new] that I heard about.”

Liverpool are likely to line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Alisson Becker in goal. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson were outstanding against Manchester United, and they are likely to continue as the full-backs here. Both players will look to provide defensive cover and creativity from the flanks. Ibrahima Konate is likely to partner with Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence.

In the middle of the park, Fabinho will start as the defensive midfielder. The Brazilian will look to break up the opposition’s play and win the ball back for his side. Harvey Elliott is likely to be handed a start here after impressing in his last outing. The youngster will be expected to add some craft in the middle of the park.

Club captain Jordan Henderson could also retain his place in the starting lineup as he looks to add drive and defensive cover. Meanwhile, Klopp is expected to field an unchanged front three from the Manchester United win, with Cody Gakpo leading the line after his brace.

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez scored a brace each against Manchester United as well, and the two players are likely to start as wide forwards. So Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino will be options on the bench for Klopp.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Gakpo, Nunez
