Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Georginio Wijnaldum on loan in January.

According to a report by 90 min, several Premier League clubs have been given the opportunity to sign Georginio Wijnaldum on loan in the January transfer window through his representatives. Some of these clubs are Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

Georginio Wijnaldum brought an end to a glorious five-year stint with Liverpool to join Paris Saint-Germain this past summer. However, the transfer has not panned out as envisioned for the 31-year-old midfielder, who has struggled to perform consistently, even though he has featured prominently this season.

The Dutch international has made 20 appearances while chipping in with three goals and one assist thus far this season. Of those 20 outings, only ten have come from kick-off, which points towards the player’s struggles to settle in at PSG. Such a situation has reportedly prompted Wijnaldum to seek a January exit from Parc des Princes, with his representatives offering him to Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham United, among others.

In particular, the development comes as a coincidence for Arsenal, with the Gunners recently being linked with the former Liverpool midfielder. The north Londoners could do with someone like Wijnaldum, whose tenacity in the middle of the park could positively impact what has been a soft midfield unit this season, especially with Thomas Partey blowing hot and cold.

As for Tottenham, the uncertain future of Tanguy Ndombele could prompt them to enter the transfer market for a replacement. The Frenchman has been linked with a possible January exit, which will open up a spot in Spurs’ midfield unit, which Wijnaldum can fill. In addition, question marks surround the positions of Harry Winks and Dele Alli, all of which leaves Tottenham in need of a midfield reinforcement.

Meanwhile, West Ham United should ideally not respond favourably to being offered the chance to sign Wijnaldum, considering they brought in Alex Kral. In addition, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek are going strong in the middle of the park for the Hammers, meaning there is no need to sign another midfielder in January.

Apart from Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham, Everton, Newcastle United, Leicester City, and Aston Villa have also been offered the chance to sign Wijnaldum on loan in January. In particular, the Magpies have been linked with a move to re-sign the 31-year-old. All in all, there appears to be an increasing possibility that the Dutch midfielder will be returning to the Premier League just six months after leaving Liverpool, even if temporarily so.
