Manchester United are prepared to offload Anthony Martial in the summer, with Moussa Diaby emerging as an ideal replacement.

According to Transfer Market Web, Manchester United are poised to offload Anthony Martial in the summer. The French attacker has not had much success since joining Old Trafford in the summer of 2015 and could be on his way out of Old Trafford after the end of the season.

Manchester United have already lined with Moussa Diaby as the desired replacement for Martial. They are tipped to make a move for the 22-year-old Bayer Leverkusen winger next summer, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to add more quality in his offensive unit.

Formerly of the PSG youth academy, Diaby has enjoyed immense success since his €15 million move to Leverkusen in 2019. During his ongoing two and a half year spell in Germany, the winger has featured in almost 100 competitive appearances for the Bundesliga club, taking part in 46 goals.

Diaby’s speed and productivity have been critical in Leverkusen’s rise to prominence in recent years. In fact, the Frenchman has been a protagonist in the club’s excellent start to the campaign under Gerardo Seoane, with the attacker scoring four goals in seven matches.

The 22-year-old’s blazing performances in the Bundesliga even compelled Didier Deschamps to hand him his France debut earlier in the campaign. And it appears his progress is being monitored by Manchester United as well, with the English giants keen on replacing Martial next season.

Manchester United have not had much success with the capture of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer. But they believe Diaby has what it takes to not only replace Martial but also put pressure on the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Sancho.

The 22-year-old winger is not the only option, however, as the Premier League giants have been also linked with a move for another attacking star in Lorenzo Insigne. And while it remains to be seen whether any of these two forwards end up joining Manchester United next season, it is apparent that Martial is set for an exit.

Incidentally, the Frenchman has been linked with a move to Bundesliga in January, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly considering him as a potential replacement for Erling Haaland.

Newcastle United, too, are exploring the possibility of snapping up the former AS Monaco starlet in January, as the Manchester United outcast braces himself for the next chapter in his career.
