Leicester City are reportedly ready to rival Borussia Dortmund in pursuit of Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi on deadline day.

The incoming transfer deadline day could witness a chaotic 24 hours of business in what was already been a bizarre window. One of the potential candidates to make a move is Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea and according to the latest report from Ffootball.london, Leicester City have run an enquiry for the winger.

It appears the Foxes are eyeing an ambitious move for the talented attacker as Brendan Rodgers desperately looks to add more options in the left-wing position. Hudson-Odoi has been primarily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund and the player himself is reportedly keen on moving to the Bundesliga, but his future depends on Chelsea’s decision.

There is no doubt that the reigning European champions are determined to keep hold of him, at least until they sign a proper replacement. He is highly rated by Thomas Tuchel, who occasionally uses him in the right wing-back slot, as a potential alternative for Reece James.

And after missing out on Achraf Hakimi earlier this summer, the Chelsea manager is not too keen on further reducing the overall depth in the wing-back slot.

On the other hand, Leicester City are determined to add more competition for Harvey Barnes, who is currently the only viable option at left-wing. It has caused a lot of concerns among the camp, especially given the fact that the Foxes compete in at least four different competitions this season, including the UEFA Europa League.

Leicester have been recently linked with a swoop for Ademola Lookman. But Hudson-Odoi should certainly offer more quality to the table, potentially giving Barnes a real run for his money while improving the overall quality of the attacking department.

Chelsea, though, are unlikely to offload their prized asset to direct rivals. Dortmund, to that end, could be a much more sensible destination as the Black and Yellows are not only renowned for their ability to nurture talents but the deal can also help the Blues improve relation with the Bundesliga giants. It could be useful as they look to enter the market for Erling Haaland next summer.

In the meantime, though, Hudson-Odoi looks set for another season at Stamford Bridge, though it won’t be surprising to see the winger leave Chelsea in the winter, should he fail to get regular game-time under Tuchel.
