Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos has reportedly reached an agreement to join Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal, with a medical scheduled as well.

According to reputed French journalish Mohamed Bouhafsi, Sergio Ramos seems to have zeroed in on his next destination. The Real Madrid legend has decided to join Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal, with a medical pencilled in for the coming days.

Sergio Ramos is a bonafide legend of the game, having achieved unprecedented success with Real Madrid as well as the Spanish national side. A winner of 25 titles over the course of his illustrious career, Ramos was a pivotal member of the Real Madrid and Spain squads in just about each of those triumphs.

At Real Madrid, Ramos enjoyed a stunning 16-year spell that saw him captain the side to an unprecedented three-peat of the UEFA Champions League. His stint with Los Blancos saw him amass 671 appearances, chipping in with a staggering 101 goals and 40 assists as well. However, the 35-year-old is now a free agent following the expiration of his contract with the Spanish giants.

After a long drawn out saga over a renewal, neither Ramos nor Real Madrid seemed to have budged on their terms for the renewal, which meant that his legendary spell with the club came to an end. Ramos, though, has not had a shortage of suitors vying for his signature despite a difficult 2020/21 season and the fact that he is 35 years old.

Manchester United almost instantly showed an interest in signing him following the announcement of his departure from Real Madrid. Meanwhile, there were murmurings of Manchester City and Chelsea even lodging an offer for him. However, it is PSG who seem to have clinched the signing of Ramos.

The interest from PSG is interesting, considering Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe have forged a solid central defensive partnership at Parc des Princes. However, it is important to note that there is very little quality beyond the duo, which can often hurt PSG, especially in their bid to finally win the UEFA Champions League title under the current Qatari regime.

To that end, Ramos is the kind of player who can not only come in as a short-term solution at the heart of the PSG defence but also bring the leadership element to the team. As per Mohamed Bouhafsi, the Real Madrid legend has indeed decided to snub all the other suitors to join PSG, by penning a two-year deal. With a medical scheduled, a transfer appears to be a formality and it remains to be seen if it is completed soon.
