Chelsea face a battle to keep hold of Napoli & Milan target Hakim Ziyech while Callum Hudson-Odoi is once again being linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
According to a report by Calciomercato, Napoli and AC Milan could battle it out for the services of Hakim Ziyech this summer. Napoli, in particular, have identified the Chelsea attacker as a top target, following the arrival of Luciano Spelletti whereas Milan are determined to add reinforcements in the attacking unit.
Chelsea, on their part, are open to offloading Ziyech in the summer. The former Ajax attacker did not enjoy a bright debut campaign in the Premier League and could be on Thomas Tuchel’s chopping block, as the Blues need to bring in revenue from player sales in order to generate funds for new targets.
Ziyech has emerged as surplus to the requirements, after managing just 23 league appearances this past season for Chelsea, only 15 of which were actual starts. The Moroccan international has faced criticism for his lack of productivity and an overall struggle to settle into the English game.
It has put Napoli on red alert, as the Serie A giants hope to sign him as a potential replacement for either Lorenzo Insigne or Hirving Lozano. Milan, on the other hand, will have to let go of Brahim Diaz following the end of his loan spell, while they need an upgrade over Samu Castillejo.
As for Chelsea, Ziyech’s potential sale could help them fund a move for one of their top targets in Jadon Sancho. The Englishman is tipped to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, after yet another successful season in the Bundesliga, although it appears Tuchel’s priority is to sign a new centre forward.
Callum Hudson-Odoi back on Bayern Munich radar
Ziyech is not the only Chelsea player linked with a summer sale, however, as Callum Hudson-Odoi has also become a subject of interest, especially for Bundesliga clubs. A few days ago, the winger was linked with a switch to Borussia Dortmund, who have apparently identified him as a potential replacement for Sancho.
However, a recent report from Transfer Market Web suggests that Bayern Munich have also reignited their desire to sign the highly-rated Chelsea winger. It appears the Bavarians are keen on signing a proper back-up for the elite wide attacking trio of Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, following the failed experiment with Douglas Costa.
Chelsea might be on the fence when it comes to selling Hudson-Odoi, though. Tuchel is short of options in the right wing-back department and Chelsea are facing fresh competition from Real Madrid in pursuit of Achraf Hakimi.
The Blues are also in the market for players like Harry Kane, who are likely to cost a fortune. As such, the club will be wary of investing on a new option in the right wing-back position.
Hudson-Odoi, though, might be determined to depart Stamford Bridge after a frustrating couple of seasons at Chelsea. He has not been given the right treatment, making Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund an appealing destination for the talented English winger this summer.
