Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing 21-year-old Israeli winger Manor Solomon, who is valued at around £21 million by Shakhtar Donetsk.

According to a report by football.london, Arsenal are stepping up their efforts to sign Manor Solomon from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer transfer window. The Gunners are currently in talks with the Israeli winger over a transfer, with Shakhtar placing a £21 million price tag on him.

Manor Solomon joined Shakhtar Donetsk from Maccabi Petah Tikva in January 2019 and over the past couple of years, he has grown exponentially at the Ukrainian club. In fact, 2020/21 has proven to be the breakthrough season in club football for the 21-year-old winger, who made 35 appearances for Shakhtar, with 11 goals and an assist to show for his efforts.

Solomon, though, is now ready for the next adventure in his career, as per the report, and is keen on a switch to Premier League in particular. This should bode well for a long-term suitor of the Israeli international, who has been the subject of interest from Arsenal for quite some time now.

In fact, Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Solomon last May before also being hot on his trails in the January transfer window. Heading into the summer transfer window, though, the Gunners seem to be well-placed to secure the services of the youngster, with talks already underway.

In fact, Israeli “super agent” Pini Zahavi is involved in the talks between Solomon and Arsenal, with Zahavi being the one who offered him to the Premier League heavyweights last year. The 21-year-old’s eagerness to make a switch to the Premier League ought to work in the north Londoners’ favour, although they will have to shell out £21 million to secure his services.

Arsenal’s interest in Solomon does make a great deal of sense, owing to the struggles of Willian since arriving from Chelsea last summer. The Brazilian winger is now looking to seal what should be an unlikely return to Stamford Bridge. Arsenal, though, will be well served to offload Willian and sign a replacement in his stead.

That is where Solomon comes in, with his potential arrival creating a promising wide-attacking arsenal, which will also consist of Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Apart from Solomon, Arsenal have also been linked with Riyad Mahrez, with a few others on their radar as well.

As for the Israeli winger, it now remains to be seen if Arsenal are willing to shell out £21 million to sign him, depending on how the talks progress between them and the player. For now, what does appear to be certain is that Solomon could be set to leave Shakhtar Donetsk for a summer move to the Premier League.
