Chelsea are reportedly keen on completing a swoop for PSG’s youth sensation Kays Ruiz-Atil, who could be available for free in the summer.
According to an exclusive report from Foot Mercato, Thomas Tuchel is fancying a raid on his former club Paris Saint-Germain in the pursuit of Kays Ruiz-Atil. The young central midfielder is touted as one of the most talented players in the PSG academy that has produced a host of quality players in recent years.
Unfortunately, the player has not gained much recognition under Mauricio Pochettino. As a result, his relationship with the club has strained, with his contract expiring at the end of the season. It has put Chelsea on red alert, with Tuchel reportedly keen on a reunion in the Premier League next season.
The Blues have, in fact, had a meeting with the Ruiz-Atil’s entourage regarding a potential move to Stamford Bridge in the summer. His expiring contract at PSG should make it easier for the club to secure the services of the 18-year-old, who hasn’t shown much intention of remaining at the French capital beyond this campaign.

Although Ruiz-Atil is a long way off from being a first-team regular at PSG, the youngster had notably made seven league appearances under Tuchel this season. Since the arrival of Pochettino, however, the former FC Barcelona academy player has been on the fringes, with a switch to Chelsea seemingly a possibility.
Ruiz-Atil’s move to Stamford Bridge could be a logical one. He shares a good relationship with Tuchel, who isn’t afraid to provide opportunities to young players at the highest level of football. It was particularly evident during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
At Chelsea, the 18-year-old could compete with another young midfield prodigy in Billy Gilmour for a more prominent place in the first-team. It remains unclear how Tuchel plans to utilise the talent of the young Scot, but he could certainly use the services of Ruiz-Atil, whose ability to carry the ball around half-spaces should tune in perfectly with the German’s tactical philosophy.
In addition to his quality on the ball, the Frenchman can offer more mobility in midfield while his tendency to work in more central areas of the pitch also appeals to Tuchel. It all adds up to an interesting target for Chelsea this summer and that too for a free transfer – potentially making Ruiz-Atil an absolute bargain as we towards the second half of the campaign.
