Inter Milan has been one of the most active clubs in the winter transfer window as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his backline with a loan deal for Victor Moses.

Reports of DailyMail suggest that Inter Milan are on the verge of roping in Chelsea winger Victor Moses after Antonio Conte expressed his desired of landing the Nigerian International in San Siro.

Moses played under Antonio Conte during their time at Stamford Bridge and the 29-year old has expressed his positive opinion about the whole and is eager to reunite with his former boss. The Nigerian is currently at Turkish club Fenerbahce on loan from Chelsea and it is highly unlikely that the Turkish club will come in between of his move to Italy.

According to Sky Sports Italia, the 29-year old is set to return to Chelsea and then will go out on loan again to Inter Milan until June. The Nerazzurri have made it clear that they have not intentions of signing Moses permanently right now in the winter transfer window but they will assess his case during the summer and then finalize a deal.

If the Nigerian fits seamlessly in Conte’s 3-5-2 formation then there may be possibilities of him staying in Milan permanently.

If Inter Milan plans to make the loan deal permanent next summer then they have to pay a transfer fee of around €10million to his parent club Chelsea.

Moses shares a very close bond with Antonio Conte and impressed the Italian tactician during his Chelsea tenure which helped the Nigerian maintained his first-team spot in a wingback role in his conventional 3-5-2 formation at the Stamford Bridge.

Conte has held onto his ideology even at Inter Milan though he does not have players who can operate as wingbacks seamlessly. Therefore the former Juventus boss was very busy in the winter transfer window and the loan deal of Victor Moses may come as an end to their activity in January.

Moses is sound in attack as well as in defence as he brings that balance to the whole unit. The 29-year old is a workhorse and has the capacity to play as a wingback with aplomb. Conte currently is forced to play Antonio Candreva who is more of an attacking player and lacks that defensive instinct and in that place Moses can bring more stability to the Nerazzurri in their quest to win the Serie A over rivals Juventus.

To strengthen his wingback positions, Conte has also roped in Manchester United fullback Ashley Young recently and now with Victor Moses set to join the club Inter Milan will go all guns blazing as they enter the business end of the season.
