Arsenal are reportedly lining up a cut-price £6 million offer for PSG outcast Layvin Kurzawa over a move in the January transfer window.

If the report by The Sun is to be believed, Layvin Kurzawa is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Premier League heavyweights are plotting a cut-price bid worth £6 million to land the PSG defender in the January transfer window.

Kurzawa has been going through a rough time at PSG lately, having seen his stock plummet in the last couple of seasons. Last term, the French international managed to start just 13 games across all competitions, with Juan Bernat usurping him in the pecking orders for left-backs.

This season, his fortunes have improved, but only slightly so, with Kurzawa starting just 9 of the 25 games that PSG have played so far. However, the player still seems to be rated quite highly, if the report by The Sun is anything to go by, as Arsenal are showing an interest in him.

Arsenal have improved drastically since the appointment of Mikel Arteta as the new manager, but injuries have forced the Spaniard’s hand in defence thus far. Arteta is currently without a recognised full-back, with Hector Bellerin, Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney all out injured.

For the right-back slot, Max Aarons is reportedly being considered as a possible reinforcement. As far as the left side of the Arsenal defence is concerned, Arteta has set his sights on Kurzawa, with a January move on the cards.

The report suggests that Arsenal’s original plan was to make a move for him in the summer, when he would become a free agent. However, with no left-back at his disposal, Arteta is eager to jump the gun and bring him in this month itself.

As a result, Arsenal have formulated a £6 million offer to secure the services of Kurzawa. The French international was also courted by Inter Milan, who were snubbed by the player. Instead, he wants a move to the Premier League, thereby handing Arsenal a boost in his pursuit.

Having said that, Kurzawa’s acquisition would leave Arteta with three left-backs and it will be interesting to see how he deals with the situation. Nevertheless, Arsenal are set to table a cut-price £6 million bid for the 27-year-old and it remains to be seen if a January move sees the light of the day.
