Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell Emerson Palmieri, who is a target for Serie A champions Juventus, in the January transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Chelsea are ready to offload Emerson Palmieri in the January transfer window. Juventus are constantly in contact with the Italian international’s entourage and are open to the idea of snapping him up this winter.

Emerson Palmieri joined Chelsea from AS Roma in January 2018 and over the last two years, he has made gradual progress in the first-team setup. This season, the 25-year-old has featured more often than Marcos Alonso, but has never quite managed to establish himself as the firm first-choice left-back.

Things seem to be going from bad to worse, with reports suggesting that Emerson surplus to requirement at Chelsea. However, interest in the Italian international has hardly waned, despite a drop in stature at Anfield. In particular, Serie A champions Juventus are eager to sign him.

At Juventus, Maurizio Sarri has a formidable squad at his disposal. However, a closer look reveals that Alex Sandro is the only natural left-back at the disposal of the former Chelsea manager, with Mattia De Sciglio an option to play as a makeshift left-back.

To that end, the interest in Emerson makes sense, with Juventus constantly in touch with the player’s representatives over a possible move in the future. Emerson is open to the idea of leaving Chelsea to join the Serie A champions, with the Italian international of the belief that he could be the first-choice left-back should he make his way to the Allianz Stadium.

What also makes a move possible is the fact that Chelsea are willing to sell Emerson in the January transfer window. In fact, the Blues are ready to offload both of their current left-backs over the next couple of transfer window. As for Emerson, Juventus would ideally like to wait till the summer, as per the report, but are also considering a January move.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan have also been linked with the 25-year-old and it will be interested to see if the Nerazzurri still retain any sort of interest in him. For now, Juventus have been handed a major boost, with Chelsea ready to part ways with Emerson, and it remains to be seen if a January move sees the light of the day.
