Axel Tuanzebe should continue in his unnatural left-back position as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prepares his Manchester United side to take on Newcastle United.

Manchester United are in dire straits as far as their away form is concerned. Their 10th position on the Premier League table does them no favours either. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate for a win and will put forth the strongest starting eleven from the players he has available in order to nab all three points against Newcastle United.

David de Gea oddly started during the midweek in place of Sergio Romero. Regardless, the Spaniard should start in goal on Sunday. The defence, though, has issues. Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all out with injuries, which gives Solskjaer limited options at the back.

Harry Maguire and Ashley Young are certainties. Axel Tuanzebe was rested against AZ Alkmaar, hinting a start on Sunday against Newcastle. But, the academy graduate should start on the left side of the back four, with Solskjaer struggling to find options for the said position. Brandon Williams is an option but played the entire ninety during the midweek and is unlikely to start.

The midfield is whole another problem, with no one other than Scott McTominay showing any kind of form. Paul Pogba is unlikely to feature but could be fit in time for the Liverpool game after the international break. Solskjaer shed some light on Pogba’s situation in his pre-match conference.

“Paul? Probably not. There’s the international break to come and that might be the time to give them 10-14 days extra to get them ready for the Liverpool game.”

This likely means another start for Nemanja Matic. Although, fans would like to see either Fred or a youngster like James Garner being afforded the chance. Up ahead, Daniel James is locked in to start; so should be Marcus Rashford, who is likely to lead the frontline against Newcastle.

Juan Mata could be handed a start in the hole, which is his natural position, with Mason Greenwood likely to start on the right.

Predicted Starting XI: de Gea; Young, Maguire, Lindelof, Tuanzebe,;McTominay, Matic; Greenwood, Mata, James, Rashford
