Arsenal are reportedly primed to sign Lucas Vazquez, who is also being courted by Inter Milan, PSG and Bayern Munich, from Real Madrid in a €32 million deal.

According to a report by Spsnish publication AS, Lucas Vazquez could be on his way out of Real Madrid in this summer’s transfer window. The Spanish winger is the subject of interest from Arsenal, who appear set to beat Inter Milan, PSG and Bayern Munich and land him in a €32 million deal.

Lucas Vazquez has been a part of Real Madrid since 2007 and he subsequently spent three years in Los Blancos’ youth setup before making the senior grade in the 2010-11 season. But, it wasn’t until the early days of the 2015-16 campaign that the Spaniard finally broke into the first-team setup at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Over the last four years, Vazquez has been an important member of the squad, becoming a trusted player for every manager that he has played under, with his work-rate and tenacity. But, after turning out 183 times for Real Madrid, the 28-year-old could be on his way out of the Spanish capital this summer, with Arsenal showing an interest in him.

One of the key focus points for Arsenal this summer has reportedly been the addition of a winger, with Unai Emery bereft of natural options to play out wide. As a result, the Arsenal boss has had to shift away from his preferred style of play at times, or deploy players out of position to start out wide.

To resolve this issue, Arsenal have been linked with a number of wingers this summer, with Lucas Vazquez the latest player to appear on their radar. And, the Spaniard could, with his ability to make an impact from either flank, be a fine addition while also bringing in a winning mentality at the Emirates, having won 10 trophies with Real Madrid.

According to the report, Arsenal are now in negotiations with Real Madrid over the prospect of signing the 28-year-old this summer and appear ready to meet their €35 million valuation of the player. Of this aforementioned figure, €32 million will be the initial payment, with the remaining €3 million being add-ons.

While the €32 million fee would significantly hit the Gunners’ summer budget, pre-player sales, it looks like they are ready to splash the cash owing to Emery’s insistence to sign the Real Madrid star. Meanwhile, Arsenal also have to contend with Champions League outfits Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and PSG.

But, Vazquez is keen on playing in the Premier League next season, as per the report, handing the North Londoners a major advantage in his pursuit. It now remains to be seen if he becomes the latest player to join the list of departure from the Santiago Bernabeu, as Real Madrid continue their squad overhaul.
